Mia Gentry was a substitute teacher for Spartanburg School District two during the 2002-2003 school year. She served as a substitute for Chesnee Middle School, and Chesnee High School. She worked for Boiling Springs Ninth Grade Campus as well as the middle school campus. She spent time in the halls of Boiling Springs High School as well. After serving as a substitue for a year she was offered a full time postition as the In School Suspension Supervisor and began to serve as the ISS teacher in 2004.
During her time as the ISS Teacher/Supervisor she was the step team coach, the chaplin for the Varsity girls basketball team, and the Gospel Choir Director. In the 2005-2006 school year; she served as the Girls JV Basketball head coach. She continued as head coach until the 2006-2007 school year which is when she steped down to become the assistant coach due to the lack of time to commit as head coach. Mrs. Gentry worked for Karen Wall the director of student development center part time after working at the school. There she cared for after school children ages ranging from 2-12.
